STEFANY TESTERMAN
FNP-C, IFMCP
I became a Nurse over 25 years ago, and initially, I worked in the inpatient hospital setting, in a variety of settings including oncology, Bone Marrow Transplant, ICU, Labor and Delivery and a Medical Surgical unit. I rapidly became frustrated by the fact that so many of the patients I cared for struggled with chronic diseases that were often related to lack of knowledge about the long term impact of nutrition and lifestyle. In my personal experience, the traditional Western medical system was not focused on healing, it seemed focused on treating symptoms without actually improving patient health. After I became a Nurse Practitioner in 2008, I dedicated my practice to helping patients improve their lifestyles and nutritional approaches, while working to empower patients with education and supportive self care strategies. I have a particular interest in perimenopause, menopause and thyroid illness, as well as other hormone imbalances and have pursued and obtained additional certification and training in the area of Endocrinology because hormones are fascinating to me.
My approach with patients is patient centered and compassionate. My goal is to partner with you, and to offer you tools, education and support so that you can feel and be your very best. I utilize Functional Medicine principles in order to truly get to the root cause of your symptoms, and together, develop a comprehensive treatment plan that is effective, manageable and focused not just on treating your symptoms but on restoring balance to your body.

I started my college journey in Denver at Metropolitan State College Of Denver, and initially studied Philosophy and Psychology; eventually I switched gears and schools, and graduated from the University of Colorado College of Nursing with a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing in 2000. I returned to school a few years later, and graduated from my alma mater with a Master's Degree in Nursing in 2008 and became Board Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Additionally, out of a desire to deepen my own meditation and yoga practice, I completed a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in Hatha Yoga in the ShambhavAnanda Yoga tradition in 2013. And, because yoga with children (including with my own son, who at the time was a toddler) is so much fun, I also completed a Kid's Yoga certification in 2014, and taught both adults and children until 2020.
I have continued my education in the fields of Integrative Medicine and Functional Medicine with the Institute of Functional Medicine, as well as other Integrative Medicine education platforms on an ongoing basis, and had the honor of being granted the designation of Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner (IFMCP) in December 2019. At the moment, I am also studying for an additional certification in clinical sexology with the Sexual Health Alliance in order to bring coaching services in sexual challenges and wellness to the practice, and will be completing a Tantra Practitioner certification at the end of 2026 with the Institute of Authentic Tantra. My goal with these additional certifications is to bring a more well rounded and balanced group of skills to address a wider variety of challenges with regard to hormone imbalances, menopause and andropause.

In my free time, I love to travel with my partner Joel or solo, and I enjoy studying all sorts of subjects including psychology, meditation practices, Tantra and human sexuality. I love to also spend time with my adolescent son Wyatt, our kitty Solomon and the newest member of our household, our puppy Louie who you may meet in the clinic from time to time.
